In a Moment

V1

Little boy comes downstairs
he wants to fly his kite
goes to the kitchen to ask his
father
Daddy
will you come with me outside?

Father looks up from the
newspaper sports page
number 37-A
he puts his coffee cup down
takes a sip and thinks nothing of it
as he goes back to reading that page.
He says , Maybe in a little while son.

....... Maybe in a mom-ent.

Chorus:

Maybe in a moment

SUMMERTIME

V1

Eatin ice cream by the pool
ridin corvettes and sports cars
that made us think we're cool
Lyin on the beach
listenin' to the radio

Lapto and coffe outside
under a shady oak tree
sailing that sailboat out
to sea.

BBQ Steak tips to end the day
Fishing for crawfish out by the bay
watching the red sox and yankees play
at fenway

Chorus:

Lets hear
it for the Summer time.
Its a time when we can all
unwind.
Where we can wash our cares away
with the garden hose.
And

Goodbye Abeline

I used to know a girl
from ABELINE
She lived in that red
farm house
right next to me
She used to be my best friend
from way back then
But she left for school
out in New Orleans

She worked four long years
for her bachelor degree
thats when she met another man
who stole her away from me
now she's tryin' to live out
here dream in Nashville Tenn.

Chorus:

Goodbye
Abeline
Hello Grand Ole Oprey

So now I'm packin' up this old pickup
truck headin out to find you.

IT NEVER SNOWS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

It Never Snows in Southern California"

V1

She was my Girl
All through High School
But college came and we went
separate ways.
I still love her I think she
still loves me.
but now we're 3,000 miles a-way.

Chorus:

Some ask me why I came out here?
to the sun and lifestyle of LA?
I saids I had to get my start,
on the path to fortune and fame.
But I wonder did I make the right
decision...did I choose the right path.
the right part?
I often wonder why it never snows
in Southern Cal-ifornia.
No.
It just rains down on your heart.

V2

Its been 10 years without her.
I'm still workin at this honky tonk bar.
I thought I'd be rich and famous by now
with a big house and a fancy sports car.

I've gotten a few minor rolls
in commercials, a couple plays
and even a small movie part.
But each time the director yells that's
a wrap
it makes me think of the girl I've lost.

V3

I called her up late last night
just about 3am.
All I got was her ans-wering machine.
this is what the recording said.
It said-
Sorry I'm not home right now..
But Billy if its you...please
come back to me.

So I hung up the phone
I went online booked
the next flight to Miami
The flight left at a quarter of nine
I got in right on time.
I took a cab to the corner of Main and Vine
and knocked on the door of apartment
number three-sixty- fiiiive.

BRIDGE:

She opened the door and she was so surprised.
She didn't think I'd ever give up those silly
dreams of mine.
Now I have her back and I've come to realize
that money isn't everything
now its time for two hearts to shine.
So now I know what it means to love someone
enough
to give up your crazy dreams.
So now I've found my path in life.
I've chosen the right part.
I've come to learn that it never snows in southern
california
it just rains down on your heart.

BELIEVE IN HIS POWER
BELIEVE IN YOUR SOUL
TRUST THE ONES WHO STAND
BY YOU
THROUGH THE TRIALS
AND THE STORMS

BELIEVE YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
AS LONG AS YOU BELIEVE IN HIM
TRUST IN YOUR HEART TO GUIDE YOU
LIKE THE ANGELS IN THE WIND
TRUST HIM

TRUST IN THE LIGHT
OH GOD
TRUST IN THE HOLY
ONE
TRUST IN PEACE ON EARTH
JESUS OH LORD

TRUST IN THE LIGHT FROM
THE BLAZING STARS
TRUST IN YOUR FRIENDS
AND TRUST IN YOUR HEART

RED SOX PRAYER

Schilling throws big strikeouts
Ortiz will hit them all
Yeah manny comes to the plate
with the bases jammed
he can hit it reallly far
He rips the cover off that ball
So sit back and watch the fun
with a bear and two fenway franks
Gathered here with friends
in grandstand 28
We bow our heads and give thanks

ONE HORSE TENN TOWN

LIKE A SEE SAW AND A HEE HAW
LIFE HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS

YES
OUT HERE IN THE BOONIES
IN MY FLATBED PICKUP TRUCK
CATCHIN' A LARGE MOUTH WITH
OUT A WORM ON THE HOOK
WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LUCK

OUT HERE WHERE THERE
ARE MORE COWS THAN PEOPLE
AND MORE TRACTORS THAN CARS
WHERE THERE ARE ONLY A FEW FARM
HOUSES
AND A WHOLE LOT OF RED BARNS

JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HIT
ROCK BOTTOM
YOU RUN RIGHT INTO THE GROUND
THATS HOW WE DO IT OUT
HERE IN THE BOONIES
THATS HOW WE DO IT IN THIS ONE HORSE
TENNESSEE TOWN

STANDIN' AT A CROSS-ROADS
UNDER THAT TENNESSEE SUN
STARIN' AT MY FUTURE
DOWN THE BARREL OF A GUN

LIFE ISNT A FREE RIDE

SHE SAID YOU'RE NOT
GONNA GET AWAY WITH IT THIS TIME
NOW GO SIT IN THE CORNER
BECAUSE IN LIFE
THERE'S NO SUCH THING
AS A FREE RIDE

(c) 2008

LIFE WITH NO PAROLE

SHOPLIFTED FROM
OLD MR. CONNERS
GENERAL STORE
GOT AWAY WITH IT THREE
TIMES AND TRIED IT ONCE MORE

DONT LET LOVE SET YOU BACK

ITS A LONESOME HIGWHAY
ON A LONELY ROAD
LOOKS LIKE ITS GONNA TAKE A WHILE
TO FIND MY WAY BACK HOME

SHOULD I TAKE THE HIGH ROAD
OR THE EASY WAY OUT?
SHOULD I LEAVE THEM GUESSING
WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT?

DO I NEED TO FIGHT ONE BATTLE
JUST TO WIN A WAR?
DO I NEED WINGS TO FLY?
DO I NEED A BIG HEART TO SOAR?

DON'T EVER LET
LOVE SET YOU BACK
WHEN YOU FIND OUT WHAT YOU'RE
GOOD AT
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO CONQUER WHAT YOU LACK
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLE
EVEN A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK
YEAH DARLIN' DON'T LET LOVE EVER
SET YOU BACK

I NEVER ASKED FOR MUCH
I ONLY ASKED YOU FOR A SECOND CHANCE
BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE ME
MAY I TAKE YOUR HAND AND
ASK YOU FOR ONE LAST DANCE?

ONE LAST DANCE
END OF THE LINE
I'LL MAKE A TOAST TO YOU
WITH WHISKY AND WINE
THIS IS OUR TIME
FOR OUR HEARTS TO SHINE
BEFORE IT FLICKERS OUT
AND YOU'RE NO LONGER MINE

I NEVER ASKED FOR MUCH
I ONLY ASKED YOU FOR A SECOND CHANCE
BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE ME
MAY I TAKE YOUR HAND AND
ASK YOU FOR ONE LAST DANCE?

ONE LAST DANCE
END OF THE LINE
I'LL MAKE A TOAST TO YOU
WITH WHISKY AND WINE
THIS IS OUR TIME
FOR OUR HEARTS TO SHINE
BEFORE IT FLICKERS OUT
AND YOU'RE NO LONGER MINE

SOME SAY

SOME SAY TIME
MOVES BY SO SLOWLY
BUT I SAY TIME
MOVES BY TOO FAST
SOME SAY YOU CAN
PUT THE PAST BEHIND
YOU
BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD
MAKE THE MEMORIES
LAST

SOME TRY TO BE
SOMEBODY ELSE
(JUST TO BE COOL)
BUT I BELIEVE
IN BEING YOURSELF
(SHOULD BE THE
GOLDEN RULE)

SOME SAY YOU SHOULDN'T
TAKE TOO MANY CHANCES
BUT IF YOU NEVER TRY
THERE WILL BE
NO SECOND CHANCES

SOME SAY YOU'VE GOT TO LAY IT ALL
ON THE LINE
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT
ACROSS THE FINISH LINE

IT WAS QUARTER TILL FIVE
WHEN I PULLED MY TRUCK UP TO THAT
LITTLE COFFEE SHOP
JUST ACROSS THE COUNTY LINE
I WAS HEADIN HOME FROM
A LONG HAUL
IT WAS ALMOST
QUITTIN TIME
THATS WHEN I SAW HER STANDING THERE
ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD
FOR THE FIRST TIME

CHORUS:

I SAID

LONE STAR GIRL

I used to know a Lone Star Girl

I used to know this girl from
the Lone Star State
Lookin' real fine
like a tex mex plate
(with salsa of course--tob-as-co)
yeah -
I always saw her every day
but
she never liked me anyway
(She loved that other guy(
*Why am I not surprised?)

Isn't it ironic how life turns
out
the way you least expect it
without a doubt
Now that you've left me and you're good as
gone from this small country town
Girl what do you think about me now?

Fast forward 10 years
she still works at the local bar
purin' out those beers
while i'm sittin in the studio
strummin' this guitar
Ridin' around in my brand new
Cadillac Sports Car.

SONG

Too much to do
too little time
a lot of beautiful women
and a little bit of wine
a lot of sittin' in traffic
a lot of wastin' time
So I ask you this
what am I doin' standin in line?

Chorus:

there's not enough hours
in a day
not enough pretty women
like you darlin'
and not enough pay
I've got too many problems
too many bills
too many issues
no time for cheap
thrills
So one question remains
what amn I gonna do?
Will I finish this job
Will I have time for you?

Just when I thought it was over
She said
you've got to stand up
you've got to stand your ground
you've got to be strong in your heart
you've got to be proud
you've got to fight the darkness creeping up the
vine
If you want to become mine.

You've got to believe you can
make it through
the tough times and you will see that
good things will come to you.

BACK TO BISMARCK

V1

Drivin through Fargo
Headin home to Bismarck
After after a few good years in
Nashville Tenn.
Playin the small clubs
my label is indie
one day I'm dreamin' of
playin' that grand ole opry
Been on the road playing
non stop
each time I take the stage
i can't stop thinkin' about us.

You've Gotta Live A Little (c) 2008

V1
Sometimes the cold winds are blowin'
with snow, ice, hail, and rain.
Sometimes the light fades to darkness
and all you feel is the hard pain

And in the end
love will shine through
and take away the dark
yes in those darkest hours
you've got to try to look
inside your heart.

Chorus:

You've got to take a little time
you've got to learn to love your life.
You've got to learn a little.
You've got to love a little
You've got to live a little more
tonight.
Sometimes
You've got to cry a ltitle
Sometimes
You've got to die a little
before you truly live.
and that's all right.
You've got to open those closed doors
and bring in some light.
yeah sometimes you've
got to play 2nd fiddle
before you learn to
live a little.

V2

Sometimes you think you're down and out
and your back's against the wall
The enemy is closing in on that ledge
and you're about to slip and fall.
You've got to believe in yourself
stand up and stand tall
stand your ground
make sure you don't fallPublish Post
If you never try
how will you know?
Just how good you could have been?
It all comes down to how much you want it.
And how much you want to live.

OLD FARMER JOE (c) 2008

He's Old Farmer Joe
that soybean farmer

from old New mexico
he'd work the fields all day
and every night he'd party
till the cows came home

He didn't need much money
to have a good time
He didn't even mind the cold or snow
he loved his life

Down on the the farm
that's all you've got to know
that there's no one in this
great big world
quite like
Old Farmer Joe

Chorus:

Old Farmer joe
used to ride that
John Deer
down on that Santa Fe Farm
He'd sit by the crick
and strum that old banjo
Under the apple tree
next to that big red barn
all summer long.

At the end f the day
he'd go to the local
honky tonk
and party till the cows came home
Yeah
dontacha know there's no one in this
great big topsy turvy world.
Quite Like
Old Farmer Joe.

MY BARKS WORSE THAN MY BITE

V1

I met this girl
at the county honky tonk
outside of Knoxville Tennessee.
She was prettier than a homemade
pumpkin pie
Tastier than a strawberry ice cream

I asked her--
Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'
As I asked her for a light?
Darlin' do you think I'm the
One for you?
She said....before you
consider that you might want
to know this tonight.
Tonights a full moon baby
and My barks worse than my bite.

Bridge:

We danced to some country songs
some banjo and fiddle
under the moon.
By last call we both were drunk
I said darlin' if you dont mind
I have some questions for you.

She looked at me for just a moment
with a twinkle in her eye
she said boy most nights
I wouldn't have bothered
But tonight must be your lucky night

V2

You see my ex left me
in Bismarck
and then I moved out to
San Antone
But those hot summers got the best
of me
so I knew I had to come back home.
I hitched a ride to Tulsa
Branson and Memphis- home to the king
Then I took a bus back home here
in Knoxville to this honky tonk
where you first met met.

Chorus:

So boy if you come here with me tonight
I'm sure it will work out.
and everything will be all right.
It may be a full moon baby-
But don't be scared boy
because my Barks worse than my
bite.

STOP BEFORE IT STARTS

V1

JOHNNY JUST WANTED TO FIT IN
HE TRIED TO DO WELL IN SCHOOL
HE TRIED OUT FOR THE SOCCER TEAM
HE TRIED TO ACT REAL COOL.
BUT THE BULLIES THERE
THEY TEASED HIM
AND CALLED HIM NASTY NAMES.
TOLD HIM HE WAS A LOSER
AND COULD NOT JOIN IN
ANY OF THEIR  GAMES.

V2:

SENIOR HIGH WAS NOT MUCH BETTER
EV ERYTHING REMAINED THE SAME
EVEN THOUGH HE WAS A FEW YEARS OLDER
THEY STILL CALLED HIM THOSE SAME NAMES
HIS HEART AND SOUL WAS SHATTERED
HIS GRADES SLOWLY SLIPPED AWAY
HE SAID SILENTLY
ONE DAY I'M GONNA GET YOU
AND YOU'LL "LIVE" TO REGRET THIS DAY

V3
NOW HIGH SCHOOL CAME
HE PLAYED THAT SAME GAME
WITH THOSE FOLKS WHO THOUGHT
THEY WERE COOL
BUT IT WAS TOO LATE
TO SAVE HIM FOR WHAT HE'D BEEN
THROUGH WAS SO CRUEL.

BRIDGE

HE BROUGHT IN AN
AK 47
ONE LATE SPRING DAY
GRADUATION WAS ALMOST THERE
BUT HE THREW IT ALL AWAY
HE WENT AFTER THOSE GUYS WHO
TEASED HIM
AND SOME OF THE GIRLS TOO
AND NOW THIRTY YEARS LATER HE'S SERVING
LIFE FOR 402.

CHORUS:

SO BEFORE
YOU TEASE HIM
THINK ABOUT
THE FUTURE OF THAT
YOUNG MAN
SHAKE HIS HAND
YOU COULD BE STOPPING A VICIOUS CYCLE
FROM RAGING OUT OF CONTROL
YOU COULD BE SAVING LIVES
PERHAPS EVEN YOUR OWN
AND INSTEAD OF EVERYONE
SAYIN' THAT REMARK
THINK BEFORE YOU ACT
LOOK INSIDE YOUR HEART AND HOLD
OUT YOUR HAND
STOP IT BEFORE IT STARTS
