Those Were The Days When We Were Young

Genre - Country, Pop, etc.

"THOSE WERE THE DAYS WHEN WE WERE YOUNG"

V1

Playin' Kickball
Outside the school.
Eatin Ice cream by the pool.
Ridin that new bike for the
first time.
Buying penny candy
and baseball cards
down at the five and dime.

Chorus:

Those were the days when time
seemed to stand still.
When there was no such thing
as over the hill.
Those were the days when life
was long.
A fairy tale fantasy full of fun.
When our dreams were endless
as was the world.
When we didn't know violence and pain,
only peace and love.
Yeah those were the days
when we were young.

V2
Flyin' Kites
down at the beach.
Playing Tag or
hide and seek.
Stayin' up late once
a week.
Our dreams were never
out of reach.

Takin' Grandma and Grandpa
out to eat.
By passing the brocolli for that
rich chocolate treat.
Playing video games with
that new girl down the street.
$10 allowance was really
neat.

Chorus:

Oh Those were the days when time
seemed to stand still.
When there was no such thing
as over the hill.
Those were the days when life
was long.
A fairy tale fan-ta-sy full of fun.
When our dreams were endless
as was the world.
When we didn't know violence
or pain, only peace and love.
Yeah those were the days
when we were young.

Bridge:

I'm older now
and I still try to have fun.
But time seems shorter
as the world slowly spins on.
Errands and bills
the work never seems to be done.
The good ole days
are long gone.
Of the good times we can
only dream
No matter what the next years bring
I'm fairly certain of one thing.
That I've lived a good life
that's all that matters to me.
So now I thank the good lord
a-bove.
Yes -
Those were the days when
we were young.

*end Chorus*

Those were the days when time
seemed to stand still.
When there was no such thing
as over the hill.
Those were the days when life was long.
A fairy tale fan-ta-sy full of fun.
When our dreams were end-less
as was the world.
When we didn't know violence
or pain, only peace and love.
Yeah those were the days
when we were young.
