Trump

Trump is the coolest cat in town
He really knows how to work it
he's the top dog in around
he knows how to run a business
he sometimes likes to get down
he knows how to party
all through the town
Trump is a man we all want to be
with his kind of money
we'd all be free

THAT'S THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES (c) 2007

V1

Plane got there on time -
three hours late.
No time to put
dinner on my plate.
Rental car broke down
haflway to Murfeesboro
Tennessee
It started to snow, got
stuck in a diner in Brentwood.
What's worse a great big ole
bug flew right into my
coffee.
I looked at the waitress,
she caughht my eye
she said
its on the house
looks like you're having a bad night.
I said you aint kiddin
I feel like my life is about to take
a tumble.
She said, dontcha know it,
that's the way.........the cookie crumbles.

She said

Chorus:

That's the way the cookie crumbles.
like a snowstorm in May
or a football fumble.
You've got to pick
yourself up
each time you stumble.
Yeah
That's the way
The cookie crumbles.

V2

Monday came
The boss was a jerk
I tried to keep my cool
but it just didn't work.
Heading to the studio
out on music row
to unwind
I didn't see that cop
behind me got a $300 fine.
Like rain on the weekend
or your wedding day
Like cold in the summer
and a blizzard in May
I don't know what else
can go wrong today.

My boss said -

Chorus:

That's the way the cookie crumbles.
Like a snowstorm in May
or a football fumble.
You've got to pick yourself up
each time your stumble.
Yeah dontcha know
that's the way
the cookie crumbles.

V3

Now I'm fighting traffic
can't be late
tonight is our 10 year anniversary
date.
Halfway to that five star restaurant
reservations at 8
I'm stuck in traffic
everyone's slammin on the brakes
20 minutes till dinner and I'm
gonna be late.
I get to the restaurant a half hour late
She's left that bill right on her plate.
I know she will be irate.

I rush over to her apartment
and knock on the door
She said what do you want
its 9:24
I said darlin I'm sorry for that
little stumble.
After we kissed and made up

she said.
its ok boy,
that's the way
the cookie crumbles.

Bridge:

So next time you have the ball
and you're about to fumble.
Remember this little story
and if you take a small tumble.
You've go to dust yourself off
each time you stumble.
the moral of the story is its
ok to be humble.
that's right my friend.
That's the way the
cookie crumbles.

That's the way the cookie
crumbles.
That's the way
the cookie crumbles.

THINGS CHANGE"(c) 2004

V1

My girl promised me everything.
She promised me her love.
She said everything would be
allright
as long as our hearts remained
united.
With light from up above.

She said, don't worry about a thing
boy.
The tough times
we'll get through.
Nothing can stop us now
as long as I have you.

Chorus:

Yeah-
Things change.
Nothing ever
stays the same.
Yeah, plans always seem
to shiftlike the weather
wind and rain.
yeah
just like the leaves in the
atumn,
like the stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may...like the flowers in the spring,
Things change.

V2
My boss made false
promises.
When he hired me.
He said
in less than
10 years man,
you will be rich
and free.
10 years later,
I'm still workin 9-5.
Trying to pay the bills,
just to stay alive.
As I look back on those years,
Iwonder if it was all one big
lie.

Chorus:

Things change.
Nothing ever stays
the same.
Yeah, plans always seem to shift
like the weather with the wind and rain.
yeah just like the leaves in atumn, l
ikethe stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may...
like the flowers in the
spring,
Things change.

Bridge:
Things change.
Time goes on,
but I think of
her each day.
The life we
had ahead of us,
those dreams
we could have made.
The times we shared
together.
But now the sky is
always grey.
No matter what
happens in the future,
it will never be the same.
Without her here by my side,
the seasons slowly change.
Yeah.....

Chorus:
Things change.
Nothing ever stays
the same.
Yeah,
plans always seem to shift
like the weather wind and rain.
yeah just like the leaves in atumn,
likethe stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may..
.like the flowers in the
spring,
Things change.

Can you ever forgive me?
YeahThings change.

STUCK IN SLOW MOTION

STUCK IN SLOW MOTION">>

V1>>
I was stuck in slow motion>
and I didn't have any notion>
of that girl at the park>
who was wat'chin me.>>
I was stuck in slow motion>
yeah I had no notion>
that she was sitting there>
on the playground swing>
looking at me.>
I be-gan to wonder>
was this all a dream?>>

Chorus:>>

I was stuck in slow
motion
like wave on>
the ocean>
It was so hot I put it all off>
and got hardly any work done.>>
I was stuck in slow motion>
Like I drank sleepin potion>
I was stuck in slow motion like>
a trac-tor> stuck in the mud.>>

Bridge:>>
I was stuck in slow motion>
like I drank sleepin potion>
It was so hot out it was>
hard to get any work done.>
I was fixin my pickup and>
bailin the hay>
Why think of tomorrow>
when there's still time today?>
Just like the waves on the ocean>
I was stuck,
yeah I was stuck>
in slow motion.>>

Chorus:>>
I was stuck in
slow motion like
wave on>
the ocean>
It was so hot
I put it all off>
and got hardly
any work done.>>
I was stuck in slow motion>
Like I drank sleepin potion>
I was stuck in slow motion
like> a tractor>
stuck in the mud.>>

*END*>

The pacing seems to go against the "slow motion" image... is this what you'reafter?A bit repetitive in the rhyme scheme... almost seems in a place or two like yourelied on the rhyming dictionary a bit much...How'd you get from the playground/park on the swing to the field bailin' hay?And "stuck in the mud" reminds me of Brad Paisley's "Mud on the Tires"...

GRAY HOUSE STUDIOS - Dallas TX

Billy herzig Gray House Studios

I get all my demo's produced at Greyhouse Studio in Nashville. BillyHerzig is a great producer....and he has publishing contacts.Like I say....a guitar/vocal would probably be about 100-150.00. Hiswebsite is in the links section if you're interested.

(JD GRAY)

Demo info Guitar/Vocal

From my experience the best demo's at the fairest prices are producedin Nashville Tennessee. You need to understand....a publisher doesn't need a fully produceddemo. They need a simple guitar/vocal.If they want the song..THEY'LL pay for the full production. It'snormally about $100.00 for a guitar/vocal, and that's with a greatguitar player and a great singer.

THE DAY THE DEVIL WINDS CAME

THE DAY THE DEVIL WINDS CAME"

V1

It started out bright and sunny.
In the city of Mardi Gras.
The bayou was full of spirit.
Jazz played from the heart.
But then the storm clouds rolled in.
The sky opened up with rain and wind.
The flood waters came and took everythingaway
The cajun city would never be the same.
The day the Devil winds came.

Chorus:

The Day the Davil Winds Came.
The skies got dark and grey.
The floodwaters poured in
And nearly swept it all away.
We all got on our knees and prayed.
That the Cajun City would be back
again some day.
From Biloxi to Baton Rouge
out onto Mobile Bay.
The Eywall Came Crashing in
and nearly blew it all away.
We never gave up hope.
We fought will all our strength.
We never let Katrina take our hearts away.
Even if it took our homes from our streets.
We'll never be the same.
After those Devil Winds Came.

v2

Its now one year later.
Have we been forgotten?
The government is still asking questions.
Have they even found Bin Laden?
Homes are still destroyed
though we still keep the faith.
That someday the Cajun City will be reborn
and the Devil Winds will stay away.

Chorus:

The Day the Davil Winds Came.
And took it all away.
We all got on our knees and prayed.
That New Orleans would be back
again some day.
From Biloxi to Baton Rouge
out onto Mobile Bay.
The Eywall Came Crashing in
and nearly took it all away.
We never gave up hope.
We fought will all our strength.
We never let Katrina
take our hearts away.
Even if it took our homes from our streets.
We'll never be the same.
After those Devil Winds Came.

Bridge:

We may have almost
lost everything.
But Katrina didn't take our hearts.
We will rebuold as much as we can.
Everyone must do their part.
No matter how hard
it is to face the pain.
We must never forget
the day the Davil Winds Came.

Chorus:

The Day the Davil Winds Came.
And nearly blew it all away.
We all got on our knees and prayed.
That New Orleans would be
backagain some day.
From Biloxi to Baton Rouge
out onto Mobile Bay.
The Eywall Came Crashing in
and nearly took it all away.
We never gave up hope.
We fought will all our strength.
to cope.
We never let Katrina take our hearts
away.
Even if it took our homes
from our streets.
We'll never be the same.
After those Devil Winds Came

Yeah-
No we'll never be the same.
No matter how hard the pain.
We must never forget
The Day the Devil Winds Came.
