THINGS CHANGE"(c) 2004

V1

My girl promised me everything.
She promised me her love.
She said everything would be
allright
as long as our hearts remained
united.
With light from up above.

She said, don't worry about a thing
boy.
The tough times
we'll get through.
Nothing can stop us now
as long as I have you.

Chorus:

Yeah-
Things change.
Nothing ever
stays the same.
Yeah, plans always seem
to shiftlike the weather
wind and rain.
yeah
just like the leaves in the
atumn,
like the stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may...like the flowers in the spring,
Things change.

V2
My boss made false
promises.
When he hired me.
He said
in less than
10 years man,
you will be rich
and free.
10 years later,
I'm still workin 9-5.
Trying to pay the bills,
just to stay alive.
As I look back on those years,
Iwonder if it was all one big
lie.

Chorus:

Things change.
Nothing ever stays
the same.
Yeah, plans always seem to shift
like the weather with the wind and rain.
yeah just like the leaves in atumn, l
ikethe stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may...
like the flowers in the
spring,
Things change.

Bridge:
Things change.
Time goes on,
but I think of
her each day.
The life we
had ahead of us,
those dreams
we could have made.
The times we shared
together.
But now the sky is
always grey.
No matter what
happens in the future,
it will never be the same.
Without her here by my side,
the seasons slowly change.
Yeah.....

Chorus:
Things change.
Nothing ever stays
the same.
Yeah,
plans always seem to shift
like the weather wind and rain.
yeah just like the leaves in atumn,
likethe stormy skies,
like the seasons from december to
may..
.like the flowers in the
spring,
Things change.

Can you ever forgive me?
YeahThings change.

Here's a bit o'feedback...

I'm strugglin' a bit with the format, even though the "rephrasing" post helped
a bit... seems that the verses don't have the same rhyme scheme or the same
number of lines, and that the lines don't necessarily have the same number of
beats in 'em... I know that when played or sung, that is often addressed
w/eighth and sixteenth notes... but one or two lines seem a bit "out of
synch"... at least to the tune my tin-inner-ear is carrying...
