LIFE IS BETTER IN A BIG RIG

LIFE IS BETTER IN A BIG RIG

I'm haulin this load
through Kansas
headin' for Omaha
then I'll be pushin' off to
Colorado
and then a weekend in Saginaw
I'll be haulin' gas to Charleston
then back through San
Antone
a quick trip through
Vegas
then the mile high climb back home

Its a great view of the great big world
up here in this cab
of this big rig with
one foot on the gas

SUMMIT WIND

V1

One Day my girl
left me a note
that said
I'm sorry honey
I love you but
we can only be just friends

So now I'm all alone
up here dancin on this
cold mountain top with this
lonely summit wind

CHORUS

Summit Wind
Alpine Breeze
Wanted her
to marry me
So now I can see
the storm rollin' in
Yeah I blame it all
on this summit wind

So now i'm here all alone
I think this may be the end
I can feel the storm clouds rollin in
I blame it all on this summit wind

SOME BELIEVE

SOME BELIEVE IN UFOS
BIGFOOT OR LOCH NESS
SOME THINK THERE'S A BOOGEYMAN
LIVIN' IN THE BED-ROOM CLOSET
SOME BELIEVE THAT THE TRUE CHAMPION
IS THE ONE WHO COMES IN SECOND BEST
SOME ACTUALLY BELIEVE THIS ROOM WILL
ONE DAY BE WITHOUT ANY MESS

SOME BELIEVE YOU CAN SPEED TO WORK
DOWN THE INTERSTATE
SOME THINK YOU CAN SKIP WORK TO
GO FISHIN DOWN BY THE LAKE
SOME BELIEVE YOU WONT GAIN WEIGHT IF YOU EAT
EVERYTHING ON THE PLATE

SOME BELIEVE YOU CAN RIDE A DRAGON, A CENTAUR
OR UNICORN
SOME BELIEVE IN LEPRECHAUNS AND
THEIR POTS OF GOLD
THE ONE FABLE THAT I'D LIKE MOST TO
BECOME REALITY
IS THAT SOME DAY I MIGHT OPEN MY
EYES AND YOU'LL BE BACK HERE
WITH ME

_--------------------------

SOME BELIEVE THAT SMOKING
THREE PACKS A DAY
WONT MAKE YOU SICK
SOME BELIEVE YOU DONT HAVE TO WORK HARD
TO HAVE SUCCESS
SOME BELIEVE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH AVOIDING
THE IRS

SOME BELIEVE IN MIRACLE
SOME BELIEVE IN FATE
SOME BELIEVE YOU DONT NEED TO GO TO CLASS
BUT YOU CAN STILL RECEIVE AN A
SOME BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN GO THROUGH LIFE
GETTING MOST THINGS FOR FREE
SOME BELIEVE THAT MONEY
TENDS TO GROW ON TREES
BUT I BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING ISN'T ALWAYS
WHAT IT SEEMS

BIG CITY COWBOY

BIG CITY COWBOY

V1

Oh I'm livin in
New York CIty
on the stock ex-change
Lassoin' the big dealers and
ropin' in those high
stakes trades
But when that closing bell
rings at four o'clock
to end another hectic day
I get home put on my cowboy hat
and become a cow-boy for a day

CHORUS:

Cuz I'm a
Big country cowboy
stuck here in New York City
My hearts truly in Texas
My soul's in Tennessee
Every night I become a rodeo star
in my wildest dreams
I'm a big city cow-boy
and this is my story

V2

I drive around Manhattan in my
beat up Ford Pick - up truck
I eat at the local BBQ all night
I party in those honky tonk clubs.
I always wear my cowboy hat
because it makes me look real tall
I go for Southern Women
with their howdy's and y'alls.

YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON A PICKUP TRUCK

I once had a big ole
SUV
IT'd ALWAYS RUN OUT
OF GASOLINE

I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TRADED IN THAT
4 x 4
IF I HAD KNOWN MY FATE
I WOULD NEVER HAVE GIVEN HER UP

SOME BELIEVE SHE's JUST AN OLD PIECE OF
JUNK
BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON
AN OLD BEAT UP
PICK UP TRUCK

V2

SHe's Got me out of traffic james
without a GPS
Through back woods and
country farm roads
through sleet rain mud
and just about any kind
of mess.
She plays the best eight
track tapes
my favorite---
Johnny Cash
I'd trade in all I've worked for just one chance
to have her back

COUNTRY GIRL

COUNTRY GIRL

V1

I was born and raised
inside a barn
I grew up on
grandpa's farm
Seemed like the whole
country was
our back-yard
to me the country life
was my whole world.
Yeah
No matter where life takes me
No matter where I end up in life
I'll always be
Yeah
I'll always be
a Country Girl

CHORUS

I was always a tom-boy
in this one horse town
I'd roll in the mud and
roll with the boys
at the honky tonk
I'd stand my ground
I'd milk the cows
and bail the hay
I'd work through
snow, wind and rain
yeah I'd ride my horse sunflower
through the fields all day
Yeah I never cared much about those
diamond rings.
Not even those fancy pearls.
Yeah
No matter who I become
I'll always be a
COUNTRY GIRL

V2

Its been 20 years later now
I've earned that law degree
I'm living the good life
in the big city
But every now and then
when I'm stuck in a
big traffic jam
I come to think
was it really worth it?
When I could have lived
off the land
Yeah Living on that farm
made me
whom I am.

LETS HEAR IT FOR THE RED WHITE AND BLUE

lets hear it
for the red
white
and blue
where all
your dreams can come true
but you've got to work hard
for them to come true
oh yeah
America
is the place for me and you

Lets hear it
for the red white and blue
a nation of many cultures
a country of many colores

Wave that flag so tall and proud
freedom will always stand on
solid ground

OLD MAN JOHN

HIS NAME WAS OLD MAN JOHN
HE HAD A DEERE
HE"D WORK HARD TO GROW
THAT CORN
EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR
HE'D MILK THE COWS
HE'D BAIL THE HAY
HE'D DRIVE THAT DOGGONE PLOW
INTO THE GROUND

HE'D FINISH WORK BY DUSK
BE UP AT DAWN TO POLISH
HIS OLD FORD PICKUP TRUCK
HE'D FISH DOWN BY THE CREEK
ALL MORN'
YEAH TO HIM LIFE WASN'T
THAT HARD
HE'D RIDE HIS FAVORITE
HORSE
BUCKEY WHO HE PURCHASED AS A FOAL
IN KENTUCKY
IN THE FIELD NEX TO HIS BIG RED
BARN

HE DIDNT ASK FOR FORTUNE
HE NEVER WANTED FAME
HE'D WORK RIGHT THROUGH THE COLD
WINTER AND THE STORMY RAIN
WHEN ASKED IF HE EVER GREW TIRED OF
THIS COUNTRY WAY OF LIVIN'
HE'D TIP HIS COWBOY HAT
CRACK A SMILE AND LAUGH AND SAY
THATS HOW YOU LIVE DOWN ON
THE FARM
YEAH NOW THAT HE'S GONE
THIS FARM JUST WILL NEVER BE
THE SAME
WITHOUT OLD MAN JOHN

SWEET CAROLINA

SHE WAS A CHARLESTON GIRL
WHO MOVED UP TO CHARLOTTE
SHE WAS A BARTENDER I WAS A
WEST VIRGINA COAL MINER

ON HILTON HEAD
SHE WAS WORKIN THAT
TAVERN
JUST TRYIN' TO GET BY
TRYIN' TO GET OVER HER EX
WAIT FOR THE RIGHT MAN TO WALK BY
THATS WHEN I CAME IN
TO THAT SMALL TOWN SOUTHERN

I THOUGHT NOTHING COULD BE FINER
THAN
SWEET CAROLINA

CHORUS

SHE WAS A DIXIE GIRL
LIVIN IN THE BLUE GRASS STATE
MOVED TO CAROLINA OUTER BANKS

JUST ROLL WITH IT

WHEN YOU'RE STUCK IN TRAFFIC
THREE HOURS LATE
WHEN THEY PUT THE WRONG ORDER ON
YOUR PLATE
WHEN YOU HAVE TO PAY
$3.99 TO FILL YOUR GAS TANK
WHEN YOUR SAILBOATS IN THE WATER
BUT THERE AIN'T NO WIND
WHEN THEY WONT LET YOU BACKSTAGE
TO MEET YOUR FAVORITE BAND

WHEN YOU CANT LET GO OF THE PAST
TAKE MY ADVICE GIRL
LET IT GO
ITS TIME TO GET OVER IT.
PUT YOUR GEAR IN DRIVE
AND JUST ROLL WITH IT

WHEN YOUR PICKUP TRUCK'S GOT A FLAT
WHEN YOU KNOW SHE'S NOT COMMIN' BACK
WHEN YOUR PLANES THREE HOURS LATE
ON THAT IMPORTANT BUSINESS TRIP
JUST SIT BACK GRAB A COLD ONE
AND JUST ROLL WITH IT

LIFE IS LIKE A RAFT ON A RVERBANK

LIFE IS A RAFT
ON A RIVERBANK
TO BUILD IT THERE'S
A LOT OF HARD WORK AND A
LITTLE GIVE AND TAKE
IN THE END WHEN ITS DONE
YOU MIGHT THINK
IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE
BUT IT AINT
BUT DONT FORGET TO GIVE THE GOOD LORD THANKS
WHEN ITS ALL SET AND DONE
LIFE IS LIKE A RAFT ON A RIVERBANK

IT MIGHT TAKE HOURS DAYS WEEKS MONTHS
OR EVEN YEARS
ITS A LABOR OF LOVE SO DESPITE YOUR WORST
FEARS
YOU'LL GET THROUGH ALL THE TOUGH
TIMES
THE BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS
AND WHEN ITS DONE DONT FORGET
TO GIVE THE GOOD LORD THANKS
CUZ
LIFE IS LIKE A RAFT SITTIN' ON THAT
RIVERBANK

CAUGHT IN THE EYE OF THE STOR

Life is like a hurricane
caught in all that dark
stormy wind and rain
No darlin' its never gonna
be the same
Girl-
I know this much is true
I don't know what I'm
Gonna do
without you.

Chorus:

Its like I'm Caught in the Eye of the Storm
Ragin' all ---around me.
I don't know if I'll make it out of here
girl without you.
I feel so alone
Yeah Baby -
I'm caught in the eye
the eye of the storm
